PrEP is Coming!

Over the next few months we're hosting an informative, social and fun evening in the South Island to help you learn more about PHARMAC's decision to fund PrEP, with our friends from PrEPing NZ.

     22 March
     6pm - 9pm
Space Academy, 371 St Asaph St

     13 April
     6pm - 9pm
     Toast Bar, 59 Princes St

We'd love to get an idea of numbers beforehand, so if you're coming please join the Facebook event pages for Christchurch and Dunedin!

PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) is a revolutionary one-pill-a-day HIV prevention tool. With PrEP now available for those who need it, it's now an essential tool in our goal to end new HIV transmissions by 2025.

The evening will begin with NZAF's Executive Director, Jason Myers, hosting a panel consisting of a current PrEP user, a medical expert, and NZAF's Operations Director, Joe Rich. The panelists will provide vital information and answer questions about PrEP and its accessibility in Aotearoa.

Following the panel, there will be an opportunity to mingle with PrEP users, NZAF staff, and other members of the community to continue the discussions. Along with some nibbles and drinks, it'll be the perfect time to chat about PrEP and have any of your questions answered.

As the sun goes down, the queens and the music will come out! Enjoy a drink with us to celebrate the Pride season and this exciting opportunity that brings us one step closer to our mission of ending HIV.

Free HIV testing will be available from 5.30pm, so you're welcome to pop in early for a test.
